Wellfleet Water Tower Gets Coat of Paint
Summer is almost over for anyone with kids because kids are heading back to school, hopefully with green products in their book bags and healthy food in their eco-chic lunch carriers. Over the past three months, so many, many cars passed the new water tower on Long Pond Road to reach Long Pond or the Atlantic Ocean. I wonder what these drivers thought? No one, not one person, has said anything

Mom's Surprise Party (not)
Sunday evening we had my mom's "Surprise" birthday party, only she already knew about it. We incorporated our family with her group: she is the ring leader of the "Common Ground" group and they usually meet at the beach to watch the sunset on Sunday nights anyway, so it worked out perfectly.

Read "Hurricane Earl Barrels North on CapeCodOnline.com". Below is a capture last night of the projected path.

Round the Front
This Sunday we celebrated a momentous occasion. The completion of the top exterior farmer's porch trim! YAY!
It looks amazing! Like suddenly it's a real live actual porch.... And that's not all! For super coolness, check out how Timmy did the left hand side.
Yes, that's right folks. He added some siding in the triangle to make it fit in with the rest of the house. (Or the rest of the house when eventually it's all sided with that siding.) So awesome looking and so much better then just...

Just Sit Right Back and You'll Hear a Tale...
It was my turn yesterday to see the whales that are as close as 1/2 mile off the outer beaches of Chatham! I have never been on an "official" whale watch before and this was really not official, but our purpose was to see some whales!
We boarded Matt's* fishing boat with his brother(Timmy), our sister in law(Kathryn) and their son, J. I had the Giligan's Island song in my head, but hoped that our "3 hour tour" was going to be just that: 3 hours.
Because K is a teenager, she was more concerned...
